Houston, TX – January 29, 2024... Rudolph Blume Fine Art is thrilled to announce the opening of its new Houston gallery, in collaboration with Eckert Fine Art of Connecticut. Located at 10771 Westpark Drive, this innovative partnership will open its doors on Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM with two exciting exhibitions:

1) a works on paper show featuring renowned artists such as Robert Rauschenberg, Roy Lichtenstein, Alex Katz, Phillip Pearlstein, Jim Dine and Andrew Wyeth; and

2) the art of the American Realist Painter, Eric Forstmann.

“We’re back and elated to be partnering with esteemed gallery dealer Jane Coats Eckert.” said Brad Blume.  “This year, we look forward to showcasing a variety of artists from across America.”

Rudolph Blume Fine Art was founded in 1998 by the late Sean Rudolph and his husband Brad Blume. For over 20 years, Rudolph Blume had a successful partnership with Volker Eisele of ArtScan Gallery.

“It’s fantastic to be back in Houston again.” said Jane Eckert. “We will be featuring some special works on paper by Katz, Rauschenberg, Lichtenstein, Pearlstein, Dine and Andrew Wyeth.  Plus, new paintings by American realist painter Eric Forstmann.”

Jane’s roots are in 19th and 20th century American Art. For more than 30 years, she has worked with world-renowned post-war and contemporary artists including Christo, John Chamberlain, Julian Stanczyk, Robert Indiana, James Rosenquist and Robert Rauschenberg. She continues to focus on these artist as well as Sol LeWitt, James Turrell, Don Gummer, Hunt Slonem, Chizuru Morii Kaplan, Robert Cottingham and Eric Forstmann. Currently, Jane owns Eckert Fine Art in Washington Depot, CT as well as Coats Wright Art & Design in Indianapolis. She also has a satellite gallery at Hotel Downstreet in North Adams, MA.

The exhibition’s featured artist, Eric Forstmann, had a successful solo show at Rudolph Blume’s previous location in January 2020 and is looking forward to coming back to Houston for this new exhibition. Forstmann studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston under the tutelage of Barnett Rubenstein and Henry Schwartz. He uses a blend of specific techniques to create vivid strokes with mystical shadows and playful colors. There is an expressive, yet abstract way to his art which embraces elements of Surrealism and symbolism.  Besides having produced numerous solo shows and exclusive commissions, his work also hangs in museums, corporate offices, and public and private collections around the world. Eric will be on hand during the gallery's grand opening.
